2023 God Saved the Best Until Now

Happy New Year!

In 2022 our message was the Year of the Beautiful Land. Here are a couple of the main learning lessons from 2022.

• The beautiful land was the promised land, which is a reminder of all of the promises we have in Christ. We have great and precious promises and no good thing does God withhold from us. If he sent us Jesus to die for our sins, how would he not graciously and freely give us all things richly to enjoy. He is not the one holding things back from us. 
• One of the most important ways we see these promises coming to pass is by filling up the basket of praise. Praising God for who He is, what he has promised, and all that He has done for us rather than complaining about the problem helps us possess his promises and keep them.
• In 2022 we did the Connection Challenge, which had a tremendous impact on my life. It was a reminder to bring our best and not go through the motions. When we bring our best into one simple thing it creates ripple effects for good across every area of our lives. For example, in our time with God we can go through the motions to check the box, or we can show up fully present and eager to connect with him. When we bring our best, it helps us access His best... which leads us to our message for 2023. 

In 2023 our message is God Saved the Best Until Now.

This comes from John 2 when Jesus turns the water into wine, and the master of the banquet said you have saved the best until now. 

There are three parts to this message:

1) God Saved - Deuteronomy 28:12 says that Heaven is the storehouse of God's bounty and 1 Peter 1:3-5 says that we have an inheritance stored for us in Heaven then can never perish, spoil, or fade. And Jesus said no thief can break in to steal it away. We must learn to make this our treasure. 

2) The Best  -  Ezekiel 20 says that God searched out the best and most beautiful land in the whole world for his people. Some versions translate it as the most glorious of all lands. After Jesus turned the water into wine, it says this was the first time he displayed his glory to his disciples. Recently we asked God to help us display his splendor(Isaiah 61:3). When we access what God has saved up for us in Heaven, it helps us display his splendor. 

3) For Now - In John 2 Jesus said it wasn't his time, but when the people did what he said to do the water turned into wine. There was a great acceleration into the present moment. Simple obedience and getting more present helps God's best show up right now.
