Today's communion is a short review of important lessons I learned in 2021.
When we started the year of 2021, I felt like God was telling me it would be the Year of Greatness. But to be great at anything means a different relationship with practice. The best in any field practice with constant repetition.
In January of 2021 God began to teach me about a pipeline of living water that is unlimited and inexhaustible. That in his grace he has given us everything he has... His Spirit, power, presence, love, joy, peace, health, energy, time, finances, purpose, and so much more.
But this understanding of the pipeline of living water must be converted to see it practically flowing in our lives. It must be converted from the spiritual to the physical. Think of the food that we eat; it must be converted from food to energy that our body uses. This happens through breaking it down.
God began to teach me that meditation and repetition is the key to this conversion, which ultimately led to the daily communion meditations that we now do. It is through constant repetition, practice, and meditation that we get established in the New Covenant and in this pipeline of living water. Constant repetition and practice expand our capacity so that God can flow more through us.
But not just any practice will do. This is where God began to teach me about the Fear of the Lord. To fear Him is to have awe and reverence for him and delight to do his will. When we practice it is about bringing energy, presence, and joy into our practice and make it a delight. Many people get bored of repeating the same things over and over, even though this is the path to greatness. But, being bored in repetition is a sign of a lack of presence and energy, and simply going through the motions.
As we practice daily, it is important to record our journey. Along the way there will be steppingstones and milestones and it is important to record the journey because it will serve as a source of encouragement for you. In your times of practice, it can often be hard to see the progress you are making and when you record your journey it allows you to look back and see how far you've come. This builds the encouragement to keep moving forward today. It will also be helpful for others one day as it will show them the path.
As we continue to practice it's also important to make adjustments. Constant practice will teach you the intricacies and connections in what you are practicing. There will be natural adjustments to make over time.
Another important mindset I learned around practice is to trust God to take you to the next level. Practice can be frustrating at times, because progress comes in stages. It may seem like you are stuck at a level for a while and there will also be up and down days. It is during these days that it is important to show up and do whatever you can do... Still do something. It is also important to keep practicing the fundamentals and watch out for the temptations for ways to make progress faster. And trust that at the perfect time God will move you to the next level. God is the source of increase. Our role is to show up and practice with presence and joy, and in due time God will move us to the next level.
All of this practice ultimately leads to confidence. Full confidence in God and what he can do through you. Confidence is the place where all of the doubt and unbelief are removed. A place of full confidence allows God's pipeline of living water to flow through us.
Another area where I have been implementing this repetition is in daily exercise. For the last several months I have repeatedly done the same workout every day, and I now consider this workout to be part of the daily communion process. I am very convinced that one of the best ways to learn to practically apply our faith and see this pipeline of living water flowing is through physical exercise. In fact, this became the goal of my exercise. It was no longer about getting leaner, stronger, fitter, etc. Working out became a way to connect with God and practice seeing his grace flow and I actually got better results in the process.
In 2022 my plan is to help as many people as possible implement this combination of daily communion and the workout system that goes along with it because it is truly a life changing combination. There will be more coming on this in the next couple of days.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
