Here is today's communion meditation.
What's going to determine if 2022 is going to be a year where we see growth and progress, or things stay the same or get worse? I think much of it has to do with our approach or the philosophy we take towards our goals. When the new year starts, most people are not going to take a graceful approach. They are going to go overboard in the first couple of weeks and be burned out by the time February hits. They may have spurts of progress through the year, but when it's all said and done, they won't be any better off at the end of the year.
A graceful approach is one that relies and trusts in God's grace to make it all happen. This means putting God in the center of it as the source of our growth, progress, and increase. Then we must learn to take an approach that allows his grace to flow. Here are a couple of keys to a more graceful approach...
Start smaller and focus on building momentum over time.
Give yourself the grace of extended time to see results. Set your target a year out from now, not 3 months.
Keep it simple by mastering the fundamentals. Usually there are just a few key fundamentals to master in any area of life. Find them and practice them consistently. Commit to a year of practice on the fundamentals. All through the year there will be the temptation to get pulled away from these.
Stay consistent in the highs and lows. God told the people the promised land would be a land of hills and valleys. There will be some ups and downs through the year, and a graceful approach is one that handles both of these in a beautiful way by staying consistent in the highs and lows.
Once you know how to apply this approach it can be applied to anything you want to improve.
In today's communion we are thanking God for his grace, and we are asking for his help to take a more graceful approach in 2022.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
