Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
Something God's been teaching me this year is the importance of rest and taking a day off once per week. Even God rested after his work. Resting makes your work so much more effective and efficient.
While thinking about this Matthew 11:28-30 MSG came to mind.
"“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
In today's communion we are asking God to show us how to take a real rest and to teach us how he works as we walk with him.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Something I've started doing is taking one day off per week of my normal workouts. On that day I walk, do some very light stretching, and when possible, do something fun. If you like to hike, play a sport, dance, etc. this is a good day to do something that refreshes you. Whatever refreshes you make sure to make some time for it.
