All Things Under His Feet

Part of our daily Prayer Challenge is Ephesians 1:22 which says... And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. 

God made Jesus to be the head of all things and put all things under his feet, which is also stated in 1 Corinthians 15:25-28...For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. 

This has already happened spiritually. Jesus is the head of everything and now he is sitting at God's right hand waiting for his enemies to be made a footstool for his feet (Psalm 110:1)

But now we have an important transition to make... We are in Christ and one with him. Ephesians 2:6 says we have been seated with him in heavenly places at God's right hand. And Romans 16:20 says....The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

A couple of key takeaways from this. Our role is to rest in Christ. A great way to do this is with your imagination. Take a few minutes to imagine being one with Jesus and sitting at God's right hand each day. Then take that positioning into your day and execute the things you know to do from a place of mental rest because you are trusting that God is helping you. Our job is to rest in Christ and it is God who puts things under His and our feet.
