Here is our message for June.
Every month is like a fresh start and if I had to start fresh training somebody through everything we do in the Abundant Life Blueprint the first thing I would want to get established in their life would be the 30 Day Prayer Challenge process of praying the daily prayer, creating a plan with God for the day of what they know for sure needs to be done, and executing those things with peace and joy as they trust that God is helping them. Combining this with staying tuned in throughout the day so that if God redirects their path they are ready to make adjustments is very powerful.
If you will keep doing what you know to do each day and doing it with a good attitude you'll be amazed at where it leads you. The other big thing I would want to establish is taking communion daily. Recently God has been nudging me to record daily communion videos. This combination of the prayer challenge and daily communion is very powerful and if you did nothing else I believe these two things could create major shifts in your life.
Yearly Cycle
We recently passed Pentecost and we are on the other side of the year. This is a time of year that reminds us to take action and have a faith that is alive.
Anointed
Our theme for June is Anointed. I believe God is going to teach us more and more about the concept of his anointing this month. Last month we talked about the idea of having our hearts established in God's love and righteousness. To be established is to be fixed, consistent, steadfast, and permanently in place. When our hearts are established in God's word and his love we are free from fear, because perfect love casts out all fear. When the fear is gone faith arises and causes us to take bold decisive steps of faith. We may even decree things and when we do they are established in our lives.
I believe the way we get our hearts established is through meditation. Meditating on God's word by reciting, rehearing, pondering, muttering, etc helps it to become established in our hearts. As we meditate on his word it expands and grows within us until it is established. Recently one of my favorite ways to meditate is to go for a walk and recite God's promises as I walk.
God is a God of order and everything in his word is ordered in a precise way. In 2 Corinthians 1:21 it says...
And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us.
The natural progression after being established in Christ is to talk about God's anointing. To anoint something is to smear it with oil. The word anoint is actually a shepherding term. Shepherds used to take oil and smear it on the ears of their sheep to keep bugs and insects out of their ears. These insects would get into the ears of the sheep and cause infections. Anointing the sheep would keep them healthy. You have probably heard the expression of getting a bug in your ear, meaning thoughts are planted in your mind. One of the things God's anointing can do is keep us healthy by keeping ideas and imaginations out of our minds that are not supposed to be there.
God's anointing has to do with appointing you to a specific position in his body, with God's power, with the Holy Spirit, and with our health. The word Christ means the anointed one.
For some context on this verse from 2 Corinthians 1:21 here is the whole section of that chapter from the AMP.
12 This is our [reason for] proud confidence: our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [in general], and especially toward you, with pure motives and godly sincerity, not in human wisdom, but in the grace of God [that is, His gracious lovingkindness that leads people to Christ and spiritual maturity]. (It is grace and love that leads people to repent and causes growth not harsh treatment.)
13 For we write you nothing other than what you read and understand [there is no double meaning in what we say]. And I hope you will [accurately] understand [divine things] until the end; 14 just as you have [already] partially understood us, [and one day will recognize] that you can be proud of us just as we are of you, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15 It was with this confidence that I planned at first to visit you, so that you might receive twice a token of grace; 16 that is, [I wanted] to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and [then] to come back to you [on my return] from Macedonia, and have you send me on my way to Judea. 17 So then, was I indecisive or capricious when I was [originally] planning this? Or the things I plan, do I plan in a self-serving way like a worldly man, ready to say, “Yes, yes” and “No, no” [at the same time]? (When we are in faith we are decisive. Nothing happens as long as we are wavering. When we make firm decision things start happening very quickly)
18 But [as surely as] God is faithful and means what He says, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No” [at the same time]. ( Every promise God has given us in his word God is for us. This month we are going to find promises and take a stand on these promises)
19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but has proved to be “Yes” in Him [true and faithful, the divine “Yes” affirming God’s promises]. 20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who establishes and confirms us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and who has anointed us [empowering us with the gifts of the Spirit]; 22 it is He who has also put His seal on us [that is, He has appropriated us and certified us as His] and has given us the [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as a pledge [like a security deposit to guarantee the fulfillment of His promise of eternal life].
23 But I call on God as my soul’s witness, that it was to spare you [pain and discouragement] that I did not come again to Corinth— 24 not that we rule [like dictators] over your faith, but rather we work with you for [the increase of] your joy; for in your faith you stand firm [in your strong conviction that Jesus of Nazareth—the Messiah—is the Son of God, through whom we obtain eternal salvation].
Here are some other scriptures on the anointing. Notice some themes with the anointing. It sets us apart as holy and for a specific role or purpose. There is power that breaks yokes and bondage in the anointing. Anointing leads to health and protection.
Here are scriptures from the Old Testament.
Exodus 40:9-10 “Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furniture, so that it may become holy. You shall also anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, so that the altar may become most holy.”
Leviticus 8:12 And he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
Psalm 20:6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand.
Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Ex 30:32 “It shall not be poured on the body of an ordinary person, and you shall make no other like it in composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you”
Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
These are verses about the anointing of Jesus.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.
Here are verses about the anointing given to us.
Mark 6:13 And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.
1 John 2:20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
There is also a connection between the anointing and touch. David would not touch the Lord's anointed. When people with the anointing touched others is was passed on. Thing of the anointing of Jesus passing onto others.
God has given us an anointing and this anointing teaches us everything we need to know for the assignment and position God has for us. This anointing also has power to set us free and brings health.
