Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 

Let your speech always be seasoned with grace.

Today is day 3 of the 10 Days of Awe. These are the 10 days that lead up to the Day of Atonement (Oct 12th), which was considered to be the holiest day of the year, because it was the one day when the High Priest could go into the Holy of Holies and make atonement for the sins of the people for the year. 

In the New Covenant, this week is a reminder that Jesus is our High Priest, and he made atonement for our sins. 

This week is a reminder to take action and get things righted. We should be doing this all the time, but we have an annual reminder, just in case we get off track. 

As you forgive, restore relationships, reconcile, and take action on things you have been procrastinating on it clears out the conscience, so that you are clear to hear, and he who has ears to hear will be given more. 

In today's communion we are asking God to help us be clear to hear.
