Daily Rhythms

Today's video has a little different format to add a little variety into our Daily Communions.

So much of what we experience in life comes down to our daily rhythms.

In today's communion I felt like God wanted me to share my daily rhythm for connecting with him. The key to rapid growth is total immersion and this is what total immersion has looked like for me. I don't pretend to have it all figured out, but I do know that implementing the following on a daily basis will cause very rapid growth in your connection with God and your personal development.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us refine and establish great daily rhythms that accelerate our growth by staying connected to him.

Here is a typical day for me...

Morning

  • Upon waking up the first words out of my mouth are... "Let there be light." This is a way we can imitate God's first words spoken and this little thing makes a big difference.
  • Then spend a few minutes praising God for who he is and all that he has done. Think through the names of God. He is love, light, faithful, a great king, our righteousness, the one who sanctifies us, our peace, an ever-present help, more than enough, the God of all grace, our healer and provider. Then praise him for all he has done. He created the heavens and the earth, sent us his son to die for our sins, poured the cup of his wrath onto the body of Jesus, raised him from the dead and put the same power that raised him from the dead in us. Then praise him for what he has done personally in your life. Praise him for things you haven't seen the results of yet but have turned over to him in prayer.
  • Pray the Daily Prayer we use in the Daily Communion Meditations.
  • Next is Bible reading. Start with one chapter from the book of Proverbs based on the day of the month. For example, today is July 18th so today would be Proverbs 18. Then read 2-4 pages of the Bible and read it like a book, picking up wherever your bookmark was left. Then I read 1 page out loud from my own handwritten copy of the New Testament.
  • While cooking breakfast listen to faith building messages (this can be a time to listen to the Daily Communion Meditation)
  • Then I typically record the days communion meditation.

Middle of the Day

  • Execute the plan for the day and pay attention to symptoms... Do I have peace and joy, am I positioned in the light, am I magnifying the right things, am I doing what I know to do or am I toiling in my mind or procrastinating.
  • After lunch is 2-4 pages Bible reading again wherever my bookmark was left.
  • In the afternoon I do the Daily Communion Workout and finish by going for a walk with God.
  • In the middle of the day, look for opportunities to be listening to faith building messages or music while driving, cooking, etc.

Evening

  • Scribe and read out loud from the Bible. I started with the New Testament until I had my own handwritten copy.
  • Read 2-4 more pages of the Bible wherever my bookmark was left.
  • Praise God for a few minutes in a similar way as the morning.
  • Stretch before bed.
  • Journal - Filters at the top, then gratitude, then magnifying the wins for the day, then recapping what God was teaching me, then planning the next day.
  • Read one Psalm before bed.

I am praying for you.
