Here is today's communion meditation.

The Bible has a lot to say about desires. Often desires are thought of as bad but there are both good and evil desires. For example, Jesus said he desired to do God's will. Jesus also said in Mark 11 that whatever we desire when we pray to believe we receive it the moment we pray.

James 1:13-15 shows us the path that evil desires take but I believe that good desires can take us on the opposite of this path. Here is James 1:13-15...  When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Notice the progression here... Evil desire conceives and gives birth to sin. When sin is full grown there is a second birth to death.

I think that good desires take the opposite path that looks like the following...

Grace makes us righteous with God and stirs up good desires. When these good desires are conceived they give birth to doing good and obedience. When obedience is full grown it gives birth to life, eternal and abundant life.

In these examples death means separation from God and life means knowing God and being connected with him. Jesus said in John 17:3 that eternal life is to know God and himself.

As we take communion today let it be a reminder that it is grace that changes our hearts and stirs up good desires. It makes us want to do good. Rules and laws stir up evil desires but grace stirs up good desires. And those that receive the abundant of grace and the free gift of righteousness will reign in life through one man Jesus Christ (Romans 5:21).

I am praying for you.

Here is how we do the Daily Communions...

1) Start with the 30 Day Prayer Challenge Prayer

2) Take a few minutes to examine yourself, plan your day with God, and listen. Here are some good questions.

Click Here to Create Your Daily Plan and Have Your Plan Emailed to You.

  1.  What were your wins over the last 24 hours?
  2. Did you have overflowing levels of peace? It is either yes or no.
  3. Did you have overflowing levels of joy? It is either yes or no.
  4. What do you know to do over the next 24 hours? List little things + things you feel God is prompting.
  5. What is the most important thing you feel God is teaching you over the last 24 hour?

3) Meditate on the daily communion teaching for a few minutes.

4) Take communion. At our house we take communion daily and keep a box of matzo crackers and grape juice on hand.

5) Execute your plan with a good attitude trusting that God is helping you.

6) The daily videos and audios guide you through this process.
