Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday I was talking with one of our partners and he reminded me of the importance of excellence in the little things. He was talking about having a standard of excellence in our lives, with things as simple as putting away our coffee/tea mug in the morning after we use it. Jesus said if we are faithful in the little things we will be given much. And there is a saying that how you do anything is how you do everything. Something I have seen to be true in my own life, is that something as simple as putting a mug away begins to cause ripple effects for good into other areas of life.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us set a new standard of excellence, and to walk in it consistently, especially in the little things.
Something New I Have Been Doing
Lately I have been trying to develop a new habit that goes along with our Daily Prayer. After praying the Daily Prayer, I like to take a few minutes and bring people that I know to mind, while praying in the Spirit. It is amazing that as I do this thinking of one person leads to another, and then the next. In just a few minutes it's possible to pray for a lot of people. And this does something very beneficial in terms of building connection with others, that is hard to explain.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Taking care of the little parts of our body is also important, because the Bible tells us that God gave those parts more honor. One way to do this is taking care of our feet. A habit I learned from a guy who lived to be 114 years old is to wash our feet before bed, rub the dead skin off with a pumice stone, and then rub my feet down with olive oil. Taking care of our feet is an important part of health.
I am praying for you.
