Expanded Capacity

As part of the Daily Communion Meditations we have been asking God to expand our capacity to receive from him and to flow through us so that we are a blessing everywhere we go. To expand capacity is to expand the ability for more work to flow through the system. Think of this like a pipeline of living water and in the living water is everything God has... His love, peace, joy, wisdom, spirit, energy, health, and much more. 

Recently, I have been gaining some insight into how this happens based on the 4 fundamentals we have been discussing. Here are the 4 fundamentals we review before taking communion each day along with how they impact our capacity for God to flow more through us. 

1. Positioned in the light

Positioned in the light means being positioned in forgiveness, thanksgiving, praise, and love. In the light God has given us everything he has and we are either in the light or we are not. There is no middle ground. This step opens us to be able to receive from God. Think of this like turning the supply of living water on. It is the on/off switch.

2. Magnifying the light

We are all magnifying something everyday based on what we are thinking and talking about. To magnify the light is to focus and meditate on God, his word, his unfailing love and faithfulness, and our righteousness in Christ. But God does give us the choice to magnify darkness. We can choose magnify darkness by focusing on all the problems and issues and magnifying them as bigger than God. Think of this step as expanding the size of the pipeline so that more can flow through. To magnify is to make bigger or greater. When we magnify God it creates a bigger area for him to flow through. 

3. Doing what you know to do

Each day keep doing the things you know to do and execute them trusting and relying on God to help you. Not the things you are unsure of.. the things you KNOW to do. When we fail to take action and procrastinate it is like we are clogging up the pipeline and blocking the flow. The more we take action on what we know to do the more it accelerates the flow through the pipeline and also leads to much greater clarity. 

4. Tuning into God's leading

As you take these first three  steps it will lead to greatly increased levels of clarity which will help you discern any adjustments or corrections to make and the next steps and direction to take moving forward.
