Here is today's communion meditation.
Emotions are a true gift from God, in that they give us feedback so that we can make adjustments. We often view negative emotions such as sorrow as a bad thing, but there is a Godly sorrow that leads to true change and us living a life with no regrets.
2 Corinthians 7:5-13 says...
5 For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.
8 Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance.
For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. 12 So even though I wrote to you, it was neither on account of the one who did the wrong nor on account of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are. 13 By all this we are encouraged.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God helps us live a life with no regrets. And if you are experiencing any Godly sorrow, it is a time of asking for his help to turn it into repentance and true change.
Today's Health/Workout Tip
The goal of the Daily Communion workouts is to practice connecting with God and seeing his grace flow in our workouts. One of the biggest keys to this is presence. Presence is what I call the grace table turner. Presence allows all that God put within you to flow. When you execute the workout focus on being more present and aware of God's presence with you as he helps you exercise. Focus on each rep individually. For example, if you are doing 16 reps of an exercise don't focus on getting to 16, instead focus on making rep number 1 graceful and beautiful with God, then do the same with rep 2, then rep 3, and so on. Before you know it, you will be at 16. By becoming more present it leads to more joy, so you can think of joy as your presence indicator. And greater presence in your workouts actually improves your ability to do more and have it feel easy.
I am praying for you.
