This is a time of year when people are going to start falling off of the health wagon. They made a resolution to get healthier, but unfortunately, most people are taking the wrong approach and aren't going to sustain it much longer.

After many years of research into health and seeking God about how our bodies function here is the conclusion I have come to... Health is a skill and most of the things that really work are very simple but need to be executed daily.

There are certain fundamentals practices that always lead to improved health.  But we must make a commitment to mastering these things and to taking a graceful approach that allows us to be successful over the long term.

A graceful approach is one that puts God in the center and makes him the source of our health. Then it is about connecting with him and taking an approach that allows us to be consistent over the long term. Give yourself longer to see results, think 1-3 years rather than 3 months and make a firm commitment to the following and you will be amazed at what it does for your health.

Here are some key fundamentals to health to practice daily.

  1. Take communion daily - this is the most important one
  2. Journal before bed - increase your gratitude, magnify the things that are going well, reflect on what God is teaching you and plan the next day with God.
  3. Eat balanced plates of food consistently - Keep the junk to a minimum, drink 50-70 ounces of water per day, eat a fruit or veggie with every meal, and have a balance of carbs, protein, and fat with every meal. If you need to lose weight cut your portions back slightly, if you need to gain weight increase your portions slightly.
  4. Have a rhythm to the day by developing consistent morning and evening routines. Having a song in your heart continually is a great health habit.
  5. Exercise every single day - You can use the Daily Communion Workouts.
  6. Get your rest - especially in your soul, but also get your sleep and take some time to slow down every week.
  7. Have fun - Play more.
  8. Give yourself grace. If you ever get off track, give yourself grace and get right back on track.

I am praying for you.

Daniel
