Here is today's communion meditation.

I once had a hitting coach while playing college baseball who could produce instant results. The first time I met him was when our team was struggling to hit, and score runs. He talked to our team one afternoon for about an hour, and the next day our team scored 10 runs. From that day on we went on to be the best hitting team around. I saw him do this over and over with whole teams and with individuals. 

So how did he do this?

The first thing he always did was to give hitters a bigger goal of changing the scoreboard in every at bat. Then he gave them a plan for changing the scoreboard that simplified hitting and set them free to hit with power. Then finally he would go over basic mechanics for producing a swing that could drive the ball. 

Lately I have been thinking about how we can apply these same three things of a goal, a plan, and mechanics to produce instant results in other areas of life. 

In our lives the scoreboard God has taught me is making other people great. And we do this by following God's plan for our lives. Then we must learn the mechanics of God's grace flowing through us to do the work. 

In today's communion we are asking God to teach us how to produce instant results by focusing on our goal, plan, and mechanics. 

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

In our health and fitness these same three things can be applied. We can set a bigger goal, have a plan, and focus on our mechanics in our workouts.
