Isaac's Prosperity

Here is today's communion meditation.

In Genesis 26 is the story of Isaac's prosperity. Prior to this there was a famine in the land and God told Isaac not to go to Egypt but to sow into the land that he was living in. Earlier in the book of Genesis Isaac went out into the field to meditate and I think there is a connection between him meditating in the field and his prosperity, because the Bible tells us that if we will meditate on the God's word we will become prosperous. I think Isaac sowed into the same field that he meditated in.

Then in Genesis 26:12-13 it says, " Now Isaac sowed seed in the land, and that very year he reaped a hundredfold. And the LORD blessed him, 13 and the man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy."

In the original Hebrew language there is a word, " gadal." and in Genesis 26:13 this word is used three times to describe Isaac becoming wealthy. Gadal means great, prosperous, growth, magnified, and wealthy. This is the same word that is often used in the Psalms to magnify God.

In the original language this scripture reads something like... Isaac began to gadal, and he continued to gadal, until he was very gadal.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand the word gadal and to help us walk in it.

In our health and fitness we also need to begin, continue in it, and become.

 I am praying for you.
