Here is today's communion meditation.
Living a life of faith doesn't mean we don't have problems anymore. There will still be highs and lows, hills and valleys, but it means learning to handle them a different way because we have God with us.
In Deuteronomy 11:10-12 God told his people...
10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. 11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
During the highs it is important to stay consistent and humble, recognizing that God is the source of increase. During the valleys it is a time to get our hearts more established in the New Covenant and grow our trust in him.
When thinking of hills and valleys I think of riding a bicycle. When going down a big hill it actually helps to build up speed making it easier to get up the next hill. My experience has been that God often uses the valleys as a way to accelerate us faster to the next hill.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God is with us in the highs and lows and that he works it all together for good because he is watching over us from the start of the year to the end.
Today's Health/Workout Tip
The goal of the Daily Communion workouts is to practice connecting with God and seeing his grace flow in our workouts. A big key is managing the hills and valleys. There will be high and low days in your workouts. On the days when you feel great don’t push too far, leave some for another day. On low days when it feels like you can’t do as much you can cut things back quite a bit. Do what you can do on the low days. When the woman poured perfume on the feet of Jesus, he said... " She did what she could, and it was a beautiful thing." The low days often come right before God increases you to a new level, so stay encouraged.
I am praying for you.
