Last week we traveled and went to a place on the coast that we had never been before. While we were driving, it was important to pay attention to the GPS because we had never traveled that way before. As we were driving I was reminded of Joshua 3:3-4 when God tells the people...
“When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God being carried by the Levitical priests, you are to set out from your positions and follow it. 4 But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between yourselves and the ark. Do not go near it, so that you can see the way to go, since you have never traveled this way before.”
In my own experience, God's path for our life looks different than we expect, it is a way that we have never been before, which is why it is so important to stay tuned into his leading and direction. Imagine trying to go to a new place with no navigation.
In Exodus 23:20-23 it says...
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. 22 If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you. 23 My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude for God's path for our life and that he is faithful to guide us. And we are asking for his help to pay attention, listen to his leading, and stay on his path because we have never been this way before.
Today's Health/Fitness Tip
While traveling I took a little different approach to my exercise than I have ever done before, and I probably worked out more than my normal. Here is the approach I took. Whenever I am traveling I always focus on getting the day off to a good start, because the day can get away from you. In the morning I did the Daily Mobility Routine followed by one round of squats, pushups, and situps. Then all throughout the day I did mini 1-3 minute workouts... maybe 10+ of them. I brought a pair of 20lbs dumbbells and every time I went into the downstairs of the house I would do one set of something... Snatches, the core complex, burpees, pushups, squats, single leg RDL's, curl to presses, lunges, etc. This was extremely easy to do and it probably turned out to be more than my normal workout. I may even experiment with this as my new normal way of exercise.
I am praying for you.
