Recently we passed through the Day of Atonement, which was like the close of the year on God's calendar. As we think of the circle of the year coming to a close, it's important to remember that the circle is not meant to be empty... but filled.
Isaiah 45:18 says, "For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.
In the Old Testament God promised to make the people clean on the Day of Atonement. But we are not meant to be clean and empty out but rather filled with the power of the Spirit.
In Luke 4:14 after Jesus went through the 3 temptations in the wilderness it says "Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding country."
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God wants to fill us with the power of His Spirit. And we are asking him to fill us.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
On the evening of 10/9/22 we start the Feast of Tabernacles, which is like a fall harvest festival, and a reminder to rejoice because God is tabernacling with us. During this time the tradition is to eat stuffed foods like stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage leaves, or things with filling as a reminder that God is filling us.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
