In today's communion we are asking God to help us break any habits of procrastination on things we know we should be doing. Business coach Dan Sullivan has a teaching he calls the Procrastination Priority, in which he says that often the things we are procrastinating on, should be turned into high priorities because we all have a tendency to procrastinate on the things that are really most important.
One of the ways God speaks to us is through our conscience and bringing things to our remembrance. I have found that if something keeps coming to mind that I haven't done yet, then it is often God trying to get me to take action. Whenever we have things, we know to do but are not executing or taking action on they build up in our conscience and block our mental clarity along with our ability to hear as clearly from God. They also block our confidence because we know internally that we are not walking in what we know to do.
There are a number of reasons for procrastination... Something else is a higher priority or the thing we know to do looks scary, big, overwhelming, etc. But we are asking for God's help today to break any patterns of procrastination and we are also going to get forgiveness flowing for anything we have been procrastinating on. We are going to receive God's forgiveness, forgive ourselves, and if there is anybody else, we need to reconcile with because we have been procrastinating on something then let today be a reminder to take those steps as well.
Today's Workout/Health Tip
The other day I was experimenting with some new things on the bicep curls in the Daily Communion Workout, and I had a little pain and discomfort in my wrist while doing the exercise. It wasn't bad but the next day when I started to do the normal curls there was still a little pain. Here is the approach I take in times like this. I reduced the weight and found a weight I could do with no pain and did the curls with the lighter weight. My goal will be to build it back up over the next couple of days. Something I may do today is try them with different equipment. Instead of a barbell I will try them with dumbbells or resistance bands today to see if the slight change in angles allows me to do the exercise at a higher level with no pain.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
