Here is today's communion meditation.
The last couple of days we have been talking about catching and throwing bids. A bid is an attempt to connect with someone. When other people throw bids our way and we don't catch the bid for whatever reason and fail to connect it is very dishonoring for the other person and they may feel rejected. In the same way when we start to throw bids to the important people in our lives there may be times when they also fail to catch the bid. During these times the feeling of rejection may arise. Feeling like you were trying to do good and be a blessing, but the other person wouldn't receive it. It is important to handle these situations with grace.
Think of Jesus... He was rejected by the people in his hometown. Even his own brothers were treating him with contempt. The priests and leaders of the Jewish people who were supposed to be his people rejected him. He is the stone the builders rejected. But he was full of grace and truth and didn't let the rejection get to him. He kept on doing good.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that because Jesus was rejected, we are accepted by God. And we are asking God to help us be full of grace and keep doing good in those times when the feelings of rejection arise.
Today's Health/Workout Tip
In the workouts there will be low days. Days when you are tired, lack energy, or just not feeling it for whatever reason. These are often the most important days. On these "DO WHAT YOU CAN DO." The most important thing is to keep the habit. Maybe you cut the weights or reps way back and do a much shorter version. Surely you could do one pushup or squat. Sometimes on these days it will feel like you can't do much, but that first rep will help you connect with God and then all of the sudden you can do more. The breakthroughs often come on the other side of these days!
I am praying for you.
Daniel
