This week on our Yearly Cycle Update we said that it is... Time to Build. As I was thinking about this, I read in 1 Kings 5 where Solomon is preparing to build God's temple and he says the following...
3 “You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet. 4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster. 5 I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God, as the Lord told my father David, when he said, ‘Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.’
Part of the reason David couldn't build the temple, even though he wanted to, was because he was fighting battles on every side. But, when God gave Solomon rest on every side, he could build.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that in Christ there is rest on every side which gives us the ability to build with God. And we are asking God for help entering into His rest and to build in a way that is pleasing to him.
Today's Health/Fitness Tip
An important part of fitness is training the whole body from every side. A well-designed workout will train all parts of the body in a balanced way and also all of the qualities of fitness such as flexibility, endurance, strength, and speed.
I am praying for you.
