Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

Here is today's communion meditation.

2 Timothy 2:15 says...

NKJV  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

ESV -  Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Part of our walk with God is learning to rightly divide or handle his word. Something I have learned about God's word is that we can learn great truth's by taking the reciprocal of a verse. As an example, 1 Corinthians 11 says that many people were weak, sick, and had fallen asleep because they didn't examine or judge themselves before taking communion. The reciprocal of this would be that many people were strong, healthy, and lived long lives because they examined and judged themselves before taking communion.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us present ourselves approved to God and to rightly divide and handle the word of truth.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

Many of our muscle groups are divided pairs. For example, the biceps and triceps do opposite things with the arm. The goal is not to be strong only on one side but to have balance and unity. The same is true of God's word... there are many opposing verses that seem like they conflict with one another, but they are actually meant to work together as one just like the biceps and triceps.

I am praying for you.

Daniel
