Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.
The concept of self-management is a universal principle, in that God expects us to govern ourselves by being in tune with him. We must all learn how to self-manage our own lives, but self-management requires a completely different mindset.
To be a good self-manager, means take responsibility for the results that we produce, being accountable, and not look to blame anyone else. It also means learning to take control of our spiritual life, thought life, and emotions. Self-management requires mental and emotional maturity, because we cannot depend on others to manage and make decisions for us. We must learn the principles of good decision-making and develop the ability to be in control of our thoughts and emotions.
Self-management also means being internally motivated because we find our sufficiency in God. We don’t need someone to push and prod us to get started. We are internally motivated and take action without needing help from someone else to get started. A good self-manager is constantly finding ways to be more productive and efficient with their time and resources.
A good self-manager also has the right attitude toward change. Change is guaranteed in life. We must have the ability to initiate change by creating plans with God, taking action, and course-correcting when we are off track, all without anyone prompting us to do so.
God gives us free will and he desires that we will willingly submit to him and be self-managed from the inside. He wants us to be willing and obedient.
Here is our filter for this week... Self Management.
I am praying for you.
