Springs of Living Water

Over the last year I have done quite a bit of real estate work and recently we have come across several properties that have natural springs as their water source, which reminded me of several Bible verses about springs of water.

Here are a few verses to meditate on today.

Psalm 107:33-35 He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, 34 and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there. 35 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;

John 4:14 But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Revelation 21:6 Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. 

Today's communion is a time of gratitude that the water Jesus gives us will become in us a spring of water welling up to eternal life and that we can drink from the spring of the water of life without cost. 

Today's Health/Fitness Tip

When I think about springs of water within us I am reminded of the lymphatic system in our body, which is kind of like a water system that keeps our body clean. The lymphatic system cleans out inflammation and toxins but it has no pump, other than the muscles. Only when we move or apply pressure through massage does the lymphatic system circulate so that the body stay cleaned out. If we are sedentary the lymphatic system is stagnant. This is part of the reason why daily exercise is so important.
