Good morning,
This is the day the Lord has made, let's rejoice in it and make today a masterpiece!
Today is Thoughtful Thursday ( The Purpose & Community Accelerator)
(You can learn more about the 7 Accelerators here)
Today do something thoughtful for someone else. Connect them with something they need or do something to make their day.
This is the purpose and community accelerator.
We each have a unique gifting that is meant to serve the community of people around us, and one of the ways to do this is by looking for opportunities to help people with your gifts, talents, resources, network, etc.
Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday we looked at Matthew 6:22 where Jesus said that if our eye is single, then our whole body would be full of light. And the word for "single," can mean single, simple, clear, or healthy. I think this means that if we keep our eyes simply focused on God, and what he has called us to do then it fills our whole body with light, and when we have light we can see how to navigate when we make decisions.
Today let's look at the next verse in Matthew 6:23 where Jesus said, "But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"
In the original Greek language, the word for your eye being "evil," can mean full of toil, pain, annoyances, or just evil.
So we have two choices. We can keep our focus simple and clear on God and what he has called us to do or we can focus on pain, annoyances, and all the things we could toil away at rather than the goal.
One choice fills our body with light, and the other with darkness.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand the importance of what we are focused on and to show us any ways where our eyes are not focused on the right things.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Keep training your ability to move your bodyweight in exercises like squats, pushups, and pullups. I consider these to be the foundation of fitness.
I am praying for you.
