The other day we took communion over the passage of scripture where the apostle Paul said he was under such intense pressure that he was despairing of life itself. As I was looking at this passage, I started to pull it up in different translations of the Bible and in the MSG version a few paragraphs later it says...
2 Corinthians 1:12 MSG Now that the worst is over, we’re pleased we can report that we’ve come out of this with conscience and faith intact, and can face the world—and even more importantly, face you with our heads held high. But it wasn’t by any fancy footwork on our part. It was God who kept us focused on him, uncompromised.
This passage reminded me of 1 Timothy 1:18-19 which says, "Timothy, my child, I entrust you with this command in keeping with the previous prophecies about you, so that by them you may fight the good fight, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and thereby shipwrecked their faith."
Today's communion is symbolic of turning things around. If you have been in a pressure packed situation, we are believing that the worst is over, and God is bringing us out with our conscience and faith intact.
Today's Health/Fitness Tip
One of the keys to building our bodies is to keep them structurally balanced. We can do this by building the different parts of our body equally. Sometimes workouts get unbalanced with too much focus on one area and not enough on others.
I am praying for you.
