Time is Relative

Listen to the Audio

Time is relative. We all experience it differently. Two people can be sitting right next to each other and experiencing time in a completely different way. For one person time can be creeping along while it is flying by for the other.

Time is beautiful gift God has given us.

When God created time he wasn't sitting around thinking... How can I torment these people by giving them less time than they need?

He was generous and gave us more than enough time. He also gave us the ability to control time and experience it differently by speeding it up or slowing it down.

In basketball or football, which are games with time management, teams that are winning do everything possible to speed up the clock and finish their victory, while teams that are losing do everything possible to slow the clock down so they can catch up. A lot of games are won or lost purely on clock management.

The first key to time is staying under control rather than being hurried and frantic, because this steals time.

Then we can learn to slow time down by setting deadlines. Deadlines increase pressure and when pressure increases time slows down, if we stay calm. When setting deadlines give yourself the grace of setting them out further than you think is needed.

Then once the deadline is set execute with joy. Time flies when you are having fun and it accelerates your victory. Bring joy into everything you do and you'll experience time differently.

The best results come from slowing time down and speeding it up at the same time. Set a graceful deadline and execute consistently with joy.

In today's communion we are thanking God for the amazing gift of time and asking for his help to learn how to control and operate time the way he intended us to.

I am praying for you.

Daniel
