Treasures of Darkness

In Isaiah 45:3 God told King Cyrus... I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who call you by your name.

Cyrus set God's people free out of Babylon and restored God's temple. 

One of the patterns that can be seen over and over in the Bible is that God gives the task of gathering up all the wealth to one day hand it over to those that please him. Part of God's plan for each of our lives is that he has the finances and resources we need to walk out the plan hidden in secret places. Think of if like a father who is waiting for the perfect time to give his children a gift. I picture a father who is waiting with great joy to show his children what he has waiting for them. There are treasures in secret places and the key to finding them is walking in the light in fellowship with God and people, because it is light that makes all things visible, including treasures in darkness. 

1 John 1:5-7 says...This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

When we walk in the light we can see things that we did not see before.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:8-15
