Here is today's communion meditation.
We have been talking about making today a masterpiece. I think it starts with the belief that God has a plan for today. He has designed a day for you to walk out today. But, during that day there are both hidden traps that try to steal your day and hidden opportunities for good things to happen that you weren't planning on.
These traps that try to steal your day usually start out as tiny thoughts... Thoughts of overwhelm, pressure, worry, resentment, getting offended or annoyed by people, pride, and so on. They start as tiny thoughts but continuing to think and meditate on these thoughts grows them to a place where they can steal our focus and day.
You can wake up with excitement for the day, but somewhere during the day these thoughts are going to come to try and steal your day. The first key is understanding that this is going to happen, and then being prepared to cast those thoughts down and stay focused on God and doing good today.
If you do fall into these traps, there is still grace and it can be turned around, but it is much easier to catch these thoughts quickly.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God has an amazing plan for today. And we are asking for his help to recognize and handle these traps the right way.
Today's Health/Workout Tip
In the Daily Communion Workout, there is an exercise called Deadlifts that is done for 4-8 repetitions. The goal in this exercise is to get stronger in the lower repetition range. Increasing strength in the lower repetition ranges is an important part of health and fitness and a key metric to focus on is called your relative strength, which is the amount of weight you can lift compared to your bodyweight. The goal is to get stronger per pound of body weight. In this exercise pick a weight that can be done with beautiful form for 4-8 reps and over time build it up to where you can do 8 easy beautiful reps consistently for several days in a row. Then increase the weight and start over. For deadlifts I don't go super heavy. Work on mastering easy to medium level weights consistently. I like to get to the place where I am 100% confident, I could do 8 easy reps every day before increasing.
Substitutions: If you need to substitute for any reason here are some options. The goal is to get stronger in the lower body so you can replace with any lower body exercise that can be done for 4-8 reps such as front squats, backsquats, pistol squats, etc.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
