Here is today's communion meditation.
Matthew 6:20-23 says, "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
And Luke 12:33-35 says, "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 35Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.…"
Tradition says that we store everything up in heaven and we can't touch it until we die. But I think Jesus is trying to teach us to rely on God as our source that will also take care of us here and now. He wants us to know we have an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, and this treasure is in our heart. God planted it there as a seed. When we trust in this treasure, we can be generous because we know God will supply.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand the connection between our treasure and our heart, and how to apply this in the way he desires.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
We have an inexhaustible treasure on the inside of us and one of the best ways to practice tapping into the supply is putting a demand on God's supply with physical exercise. It can teach us how to trust and put our confidence in his supply.
I am praying for you.
