The other day I was doing a Bible study with my kids and we came across Exodus 3:11-12 where God charges Moses with bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses responds with... “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you.
The things that God asks us to do often look impossible and we may find ourselves asking the question...Who am I?
But, it is not about what you can do, it is about God being with you.
Consider some other Biblical examples...
When the Israelites spied out the promised land most of them came back with a bad/evil report saying they couldn't take the land because they looked like grasshoppers compared the to giants. They were looking at themselves rather than God being with them.
In Judges chapter 6 God tells Gideon “Go in the strength you have and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Am I not sending you?” 15“Please, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I save Israel? Indeed, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.” 16“Surely I will be with you,” the LORD replied, “and you will strike down all the Midianites as one man”
If God asks you to do something that looks impossible, don't look at what you can do. Look at what he can do.
I am praying for you.
