I once heard a story from a fitness expert named Dan John. When he was a kid one of his teachers taught the importance of balancing our time between working, praying, and playing. Recently I was thinking about combining all three of these things as we go throughout the day. We can be washing the dishes, cleaning toilets, mowing the grass, doing our taxes, or whatever other work we need do to while praying and having fun. So much of this is found in the attitude that we do everything with. If we bring God through prayer and connection with him into whatever we are doing we will have more fun, because in his presence there is fullness of joy. Music is one of the easiest ways to make this happen.
In today's communion we are asking for God's help to turn our work into worship. To take the everyday work that we do and the things we need to get done and combine them with prayer and playing.
Today's Workout/Health Tip
Our workouts are one of the best times to practice working, praying, and playing. To do the work together in partnership with God and have fun doing it. Think of the workout as an opportunity to practice this every day and regain focus if we ever lose it. Then let it carry over into the rest of the day.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
