(October Message) Write Out Prayers

The fall is a time of transfers and transitions, where God often starts to reposition things in order to move us to the next level. As I was looking back over the last several years, it seems that most of the major transitions in my life occurred during this time of the year. But, most of them never happened until l created a written prayer about what I wanted to happen. If it seems like you have been waiting on some answers to prayer try writing out a prayer. 

Writing out prayers is very powerful. This is something I have done for years, and it really works. Here is how I write out the prayers.

• Type them up like a legal document.
• Date it at the top or in the text.
• Start with thanksgiving, for whatever you are thankful to God for.
• Then ask, and ask big, even if it looks impossible. 
• Base what you are asking for on specific promises in the Bible. 
• Ask in the name of Jesus and keep the whole thing simple. 
• Then print and sign the document, along with someone else to agree with you. Husbands and wives are the usually the best. 
• Pray and give the request to God.
• Then take communion over the prayer as a reminder of our covenant with God. 
• After giving it to God, if it ever looks like it is not going to happen, keep thanking him and praising him for the answer. 

If there are some things you have been waiting on but the doors haven't opened yet, try writing out your prayers. God has some amazing things in store for us, but he does tell us to ask.
