Bind Up the Brokenhearted
The other day I rolled my ankle really badly and I was in a fair amount of pain, so my wife suggested wrapping it in a bandage for compression before bed. After sleeping with my foot/ankle bound up I was woken up by these words running through my mind, " I came to bind up the broken hearted."
And thankfully my ankle was 80-90% better when I woke up in the morning.
Isaiah 61:1 says, "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners."
Psalm 147:3 says He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that Jesus came to bind up the broken hearted. And we are asking for understanding of this and to help us receive and walk in the work he wants to do in our hearts.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Today is also Day 4 of the Daniel Fast. Years ago when I first started the Daniel Fast I was extremely strict... probably too strict. I was looking at labels on everything and checking the ingredients. Now I don't worry about any of that. The most important thing is that we do it from the heart. If we are seeking to honor God that is the most important thing.
