He Emptied Himself
This month we are focused on understanding the times, so we know what is best to do. The other day was the Day of Atonement, which was a day of fasting with no food or water. As we went through the day of fasting we emptied ourselves. I think of atonement as a deep cleaning and a reminder that Jesus emptied himself so that God can fill us with his spirit, wisdom, and joy.
Phillipians 2:6-8 says "Who(Jesus), existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross..."
Luke 10:21 says "At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way."
Today's communion is a time of gratitude emptied himself but was also full of the Spirit. And we asking God to fill us to a new level with His Spirit, joy, and wisdom.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
On the evening of 10/9/22 we start the 7 Days of the Feast of Tabernacles, which is like a fall harvest festival, and a reminder to rejoice because God is tabernacling with us. During this time the tradition is to eat stuffed foods like stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage leaves, or things with filling as a reminder that God is filling us.
I am praying for you.
