Blessing and Cursing
Today is Day 7 of the 7 Day Feast of Tabernacles, which is a time to rejoice in the harvest and remember Jesus wants to give us rest in our soul. Tomorrow is the 8th Day, which is like a new beginning, and it was referred to as the great day.
James 3:9-12 says...
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in Godā€™s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come blessing(praise) and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
In today's communion we are asking God to forgive us of any times when we have cursed other people, who were made in his image. And we are asking us to help us walk in praise and blessing consistently from this point on.
