Night and Day
Here is today's communion meditation.
This month our message is "Walking in God's Best Today."
The last couple of days we talked about how in 1 Thessalonians 2 Paul said he was gentle among the people like a nursing mother cherishes her children while at the same time he was encouraging, comforting, and urging the people like a father to live lives worthy of God and his glory.
Sandwiched in between these verses Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 2:9-10, " Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. 10 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed."
In Joshua chapter 1 God said to meditate on his word night and day, but in this passage we see Paul working night and day. It was Paul's meditation on the word that allowed him to work, but it wasn't Paul working, it was God's energy powerfully working within him.
Abraham and Solomon were both commanded by God to "walk before him and be blameless." And the result of Paul working day and night was that he was holy, righteous, and blameless.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us work the right way.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
In today's scripture that word for "work," can also be translated as "work out." A simple thing that can make a big difference is doing little mini workouts all throughout the day. This can be done with bodyweight exercises such as squats, pushups, and sit-ups or you can keep a light set of dumbbells around and to small workouts throughout the day.
I am praying for you.
