The Rhythm of Grace
Here is today's communion meditation.
Our message for July is, " Being Bold Leads to God's Best."
The other day we looked at Ephesians 6:19 which says, "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel."
And 1 Corinthians 4:1 says that God has made us to be stewards of the mysteries of God.
In my book "Cracking Heaven's Code." there is a chapter on the mysteries of God and how they serve as the rules that govern the way our bodies work.
The 4th mystery in "Cracking Heaven's Code," is the mystery of rhythm.
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG says, " Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
In the Old Testament the temple had a rhythm of things that were to be done every day, week, month, and on the yearly cycle feasts. Our bodies are God's temple now, and rhythm is still very important.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand the mystery of rhythm and how to apply the unforced rhythms of grace to our life the way he intended.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
The cells in our body actually move to a rhythm all the time, making rhythm one of the most important aspects of health. If you get into a good rhythm with your health habits make sure to keep the rhythm.
I am praying for you.
