When He Saw the Wind

Season #1 Episode #494

Good morning!

Today is Fellowship Friday - The Love Accelerator

(You can learn more about the 7 Accelerators here)

1 John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

To walk in the light is also to walk in love, and the indicator is that we have fellowship with one another.

The shortcut to walking in the light is gratitude.

If there are any strained relationships, how could you take steps toward restored fellowship today?

And make it a priority to fellowship with people today.

Here is today's communion meditation.

Recently I came across the story of a guy who sailed his boat across the ocean to a specific destination. And he said that every day he charted his course to the destination, so that he stayed on track and didn't drift in the wrong direction.

On this trip both the underlying currents of the water and the wind could push or pull him in a different direction than he wanted to go, so he had to evaluate his direction, and make adjustments constantly.

This reminded me of the story of Peter walking on the water.

In Matthew 14:29-30 it says, "Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

The wind caused Peter to get off track.

In life we have the underlying currents of our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that can steer us off track at times, and they are activated by what's happening around us.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us chart our course successfully and keep our eyes on him so that that we walk by faith the way he desires us to.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

In your health and fitness there are winds and waves that try to pull you off track. On the inside it could be an emotional state or limiting belief that keeps you from making progress, and then there's the external factors like feeling pressed for time, joint pain, etc. Take some time today to examine the factors that tend to pull you off track.

 I am praying for you.

Daniel

P.S. Remember the Master is with you, he loves you, and nothing is impossible for him.
