Buy Without Cost

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

There is an interesting verse in Isaiah 55:1-2. It says, " Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare."

I think there are two ways we can buy without cost. One is that someone else pays for you. Jesus paid a high price for us.

The other way we can buy without cost is if something is more valuable or makes you more money than you pay. In this scenario, you can also buy without cost.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand how we buy without cost and to apply this understanding.

Reign in Life

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

We've been talking about the story in 2 Chronicles chapter 1 where Solomon asks God for wisdom and understanding to do what God has called him to do.

Immediately after this Solomon went by faith to sit on the throne and reign over Israel. Think about this for a moment.. He didn't have any evidence that God was going to give him the wisdom to rule Israel, but he believed what God told him, and he trusted God. He reigned by faith. For us to reign in the assignment that God has given us I believe we must do the same.

Thinking of these verses reminded me of Romans 5:17 which says, "For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"

In today's communion we are asking God to help us set this promise in motion.

And He Reigned

Here is today's communion meditation.

We've been talking about the story in 2 Chronicles chapter 1 of God appearing to Solomon and telling him to ask for whatever he wants.

Solomon prayed for a couple of specific things... Number one was that God's promise to David would be established or confirmed. This promise was for Solomon's family. We also have great and precious promises in Christ, and we can ask God to establish those promises in our lives.

Then Solomon asked for wisdom and understanding on how to do what God called him to do. God made him the king, but he didn't know how to be king, so he asked God to help him be king in a way that was pleasing to God and served the people. We can also ask God for help to walk out what he's called us to do, because we usually don't know what we're doing.

Immediately after this God tells Solomon that he was pleased with his request and that he will not only grant his request but give him riches, wealth,...

Solomon's Prayer

Here is today's communion meditation.

In 2 Chronicles chapter 1 is the story of God appearing to Solomon and telling him to ask for whatever he wants. We've been given the same proposition in Christ. Jesus said that if we abide in him, we can ask for whatever we want in his name. But how do we know what to ask for?

For a while now we have talked about asking God to help us do what's right and best in his eyes, because we trust that God will take care of is if we are doing that. But I think there are some additional things we can learn from looking at what Solomon prayed for. Here is what it says in 2 Chronicles 1:7-10:

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who...

Piercing the Heavens

Here is today's communion meditation.

In Genesis 11 is the story of the Tower of Babel. And verse 6 says, "The LORD said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun(pierced) to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible(withheld) for them."

The Hebrew word for begun is actually translated as pierced, and I came across some Jewish teaching on this scripture stating that the people were trying to build a tower that would pierce the heavens, so that all the wrath God was storing up for them would not be able to be stored.

I think this also has a reciprocal, we can pierce the heavens, to release all that God has for us. Notice in the verse above that nothing would be withheld after they had pierced the heavens.

When Jesus was pierced on his side there was a sudden flow of blood and water. In a similar when, when we pierce the heavens there is a sudden flow of living water.

In today's communion we are asking...

The Four Corners

Here is today's communion meditation.

Lately the idea of 4 dimensions keeps coming up, and it reminded me of Revelation 7:1 which says, "After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree."

There are four corners of the earth, 4 winds, and also 4 dimensions. I think the 4th dimension is the faith realm. It's the invisible realm we access by faith, and it's just as real, maybe more real, than the other dimensions.

In today's communion we are asking God to teach us about the 4 corners, winds, and dimensions of the earth.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

One of the keys to joint health is working the 4 corners around a joint. If you are having joint pain examine how well the muscles on the 4 corners surrounding the joint are balanced. As an example, with your knees, the muscles on the quadricep(front of the thigh),...

The Last Great Day

Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.

Tomorrow is the 8th Day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which was called the Last Great Day. It was the day when Jesus stood up and said, "If anyone believes in me, then out of his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.

The 8th Day is a reminder of God's grace and new beginnings. We have his grace and favor which leads to a fresh start. It's also a time of the year when God starts to transition us to new things, so be prepared for transfers and repositioning over the upcoming weeks.

Here is our filter for this week... The Last Great Day

I am praying for you.

None of His Words Fell to the Ground

Here is today's communion meditation.

Lately we've been talking and how God watches over His word to perform it, and how he always fulfills his promises.

Another amazing verse to meditate on is 1 Samuel 3:19 which says, "The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground."

If we believe in Jesus then God is with us just as He was with Samuel. I think God wants to do the same for us, where none of our words fall to the ground. He fulfills them for us.

Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God can also fulfill our words, and we are asking Him to help us speak in such a way that the things we speak are good things to be fulfilled.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

Bring presence into your workouts. Instead of doing 8 or 10 reps of an exercise, think of it as 1 rep 8 times. Focus on executing that one rep beautifully, then do it again.

God Watches Over His Word

Here is today's communion meditation.

Yesterday we talked about Joshua 23:14 which says, "You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one has failed."

And this reminded me of Jeremiah 1:12 which says, "Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God watches over his word to fulfill his promises, and that we can trust in him.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

Make sure to leave a little margin in your workouts, especially on the days when you feel great. This is counterintuitive, but just like you shouldn't spend all you have when you get a big chunk of money, don't use up all your strength and energy when you feel great, because it will build some reserves for the days when you are lower on energy.

I am praying for you.
