This month our challenge is to connect on a new level... With God, our purpose, our loved ones, and community.
So far, we have worked on bringing a new level of awe and presence to our time of connecting with God and on connecting spirit, soul, and body.
This week we are working on connecting with our loved ones and those closest to us.
We are going to do this with remembrance and using our imagination to cherish them. The definition I use for cherishing is... To keep people from pain and give them the desires of their heart.
This week we are going to use our imagination and remembrance to better cherish our loved ones.
In Hebrew the word "zakar," means remembrance in action. It is remembrance that stirs to action. For example, imagine a man's anniversary is coming up. If he remembers the anniversary but doesn't do anything for his wife, she will think he forgot. But, if the guy remembers and buys flowers, takes his wife on a date, etc then his rememberi...

This week we are focusing on connecting with those closest to us by honoring their attempts to connect with us. Catch at least 80% of all their bids and throw some bids their way.
Psalm 44:2-3 says...
With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our fathers; you crushed the peoples and made our fathers flourish. It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.
Our theme for this year has been The Year of the Beautiful Land. And recently God has given me some greater insight into the beautiful land, which is the inheritance he has given us in Christ. We don't possess this land thr...

This week we are connecting Spirit, soul, and physical body with 10 minutes each day of combining journaling, listening to music, praying in the Spirit, and physical movement all at the same time.
Some people believe that living a life of faith means we will never have problems, but this is not the case. Jesus said in this world we would have troubles, but to be of good cheer because he has overcome the world.
Psalm 34:10 says "The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all."
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God delivers us from all troubles.
The other day I was reminded of the story of when Melchizedek(who is symbolic of Jesus) brought bread and wine to Abraham after winning a battle. When we are facing issues and problems, it's good to take communion as a way to remember that God delivers us fr...

One of the obstacles to connection is fear and insecurity, because when we feel insecure or threatened, we tend to turn inward, and it steals our presence. But perfect love drives out fear.
Psalm 32:10 says, "Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him."
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God's unfailing love surrounds us. And we are asking for his help to understand his unfailing love for us and to walk in it so that it leads to greater levels of connection in our lives.

Yesterday was a jam-packed day for me, so today's communion is a little simpler. Since it was a busy day, I did what I would recommend for anyone with a busy schedule. When life is busy it's important to take at least a few minutes to slow down and simply remember God is with us. A few minutes of connecting spirit, soul, and body or taking communion during a busy day can be a great way to keep us on track.
Today's communion is a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and that because of him we have been connected to God.

Lately the word "fitting," seems to keep standing out to me.
The other day we talked about how fitting it is to praise God(Psalm 147:1). And yesterday we looked at Proverbs 10:32 which says, "The lips of the righteous know what is fitting."
Today we are looking at 1 Corinthians 14:40 which says everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
As we connect spirit, soul, and body each day I think it helps us fit everything together in a seamless beautiful way.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God is a God of order and peace. And we are asking him to help us do everything in a fitting and orderly way.

Proverbs 10:32 says, "The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse."
There are many scriptures talking about the lips of righteous.. for example the lips of the righteous nourish many and are like choice silver.
Yesterday we said that praising God is fitting meaning that it helps to bring into our lives God's beautiful solutions that are the perfect fit.
If we are in Christ, then he has made us righteous, so this promise in Proverbs 10:32 is for us.
This verse tells us that our lips always know what is fitting, meaning we know the perfect thing to say in a given situation.

Last night we started part 2 of the Connection Challenge which is to connect our Spirit, Soul, and Physical Body.
For many of us who are seeking after God in our lives there is often a disconnect. We see all of the amazing promises that have been given to us in Christ, but we don't see the result of these promises showing up in our lives.
It is through connecting Spirit, Soul, and our Physical body that we see accelerated results.
The Spirit is the inner core of who we are, and the soul is the mind and emotions. Much of what God has done for us has taken place in our spirit and we must build a bridge in our soul to connect our physical bodies and see the results showing up in our lives.
Here is a 10 minute exercise to do each day this week to practice connecting Spirit, Soul, and Physical Body.
This month our challenge is to connect on a new level... With God, our purpose, our loved ones, and community.
This week we are connecting... Spirit, soul, and physical body. One of the best ways for us to connect spirit, soul, and body is through praise.
Psalm 147:1 says Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
The Hebrew word for "fitting," in this verse can also be translated as beautiful, seemly, or lovely.
I believe something God is showing me is that when we praise him it helps us to connect and fit everything together in our lives seamlessly and beautifully. Praising him expands our capacity to receive beautiful solutions to problems we face. Beautiful solutions are ones that we can never make happen on our own. They come from above and they are the perfect fit at the perfect time.
The word seamless reminds me of the clothing of Jesus at the cross. His clothing was seamless, woven from top ...

Over the last week we have been prioritizing connecting with God. Tonight at 7pm EST on our live zoom in the Connection Challenge we are going to discuss how we are a 3 part being... Spirit, soul, and physical body, and how these three are meant to be connected and function as one.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I think of our spirit as the inner core of us or the inner person of the heart and our soul being our mind and emotions. The soul is the connector between the spirit and the body. Renewing our mind and learning to rest in our soul can be one of the greatest ways we create a bridge that allows all of the good things God has put in our spirit to flow through us.
