Here is today's communion meditation.
It can be easy to get tangled up in spending a lot of time on things that are not needed. Some of these may be little things, but they can steal a lot of energy and focus, and the way to multiply our results is often by subtracting the things that are not needed.
The Scriptures tells us that Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. This could also be translated us untie the works of the devil, because we can get tangled up in things.
In today's communion we are asking Jesus to untie us from anything we are entangled in that is stealing our time, energy, and focus away from delighting in him.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
In our workouts we can also waste time on exercises that don't produce much results. We are also asking God to to multiply our results by helping us focus on the things that really produce results.
I am praying for you.

This month our message is "Delight Yourself in the Lord."
Psalm 112 gives some amazing promises for those who delight in God's commands.
Here is Psalm 112:1-5
Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
who find great delight in his commands
2 Their children will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures forever.
4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
5 Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us find great delight in His commands.

In our workouts there will be great days and days when we don't feel like showing up. Those days when we don't feel like showing up...

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Malachi, God says that he is the Lord, and does not change. We live in a changing uncertain world, but in uncertain times we can look to the one who does not change. Knowing that he doesn't change and is consistent means that we can rely on and trust in him, We are secure in him and can rest.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand what it means for us that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Getting results in our health and fitness doesn't happen overnight... we have to be consistent. But, where does our ability to be consistent come from. Rather than our own discipline or will-power it can come from the one who is so consistent that he never changes. His consistency can flow through us.
I am praying for you.

Romans 8:14 says "those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God."
Think of all of the miracles we Jesus performing in Gospels. He was constantly using different methods, because he said he only did what his father did and said what his father said. He was hearing from God and then taking action. And we must also learn to be led by the Spirit.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us be led by the Spirit consistently.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Just like the Spirit is supposed to lead our actions our breathing is supposed to lead our movements in our workouts. When we do it correctly our movement has an easy natural feel rather than forced, just like when we are led by the Spirit.
I am praying for you.

The other day I asked my kids what happens if they call Alexa or Siri by the wrong name. They responded that nothing happens. The reason nothing happens is because it wouldn't be following the way it was designed. Someone could try and try and get upset but it still wouldn't work.
In a similar way God is the master designer and creator. He created it all and designed everything in this world to function a certain way. Doing things a different way won't produce the desired results, because that's not how it was designed. As an example, God designed us to walk in love and be a blessing all the time, even when others don't reciprocate or we don't feel like it. The more we do this the better it goes.
In today's communion we are asking Go to help us understand his original design and to how to operate in his design.

Here is today's communion meditation.
In Genesis 26 is the story of Isaac's prosperity. Prior to this there was a famine in the land and God told Isaac not to go to Egypt but to sow into the land that he was living in. Earlier in the book of Genesis Isaac went out into the field to meditate and I think there is a connection between him meditating in the field and his prosperity, because the Bible tells us that if we will meditate on the God's word we will become prosperous. I think Isaac sowed into the same field that he meditated in.
Then in Genesis 26:12-13 it says, " Now Isaac sowed seed in the land, and that very year he reaped a hundredfold. And the LORD blessed him, 13 and the man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy."
In the original Hebrew language there is a word, " gadal." and in Genesis 26:13 this word is used three times to describe Isaac becoming...

Psalm 103 starts with, "Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name."
The phrase, "all my inmost being, " really stood out to me the other day.
This Psalm was written by David who was a man after God's heart, and I think that praising with his inmost being was one of the ways he was after God's heart.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us consistently praise him from our inmost being.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
The phrase "inmost being," reminds me of training our core. Every time we are training our abs/core let it be a reminder to us to be praising God from our inmost being.
I am praying for you.

The other day I was reading in Joshua chapter 24 and when God kept using the phrase, " Beyond the River," to describe where Abraham's ancestors had come from, prior to crossing over into the promised land.
God kept reiterating that the people had come from Beyond the River.
In today's communion we are asking God to give us insight and understanding into what the phrase, "Beyond the River." means for us today.

The other day Galatians 6:8 popped up several times throughout the day. And I have learned that when a scripture keeps showing up it means that God is trying to show me something.
Galatians 6:8 says, " Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."
In today's communion we are asking God to give us insight and revelation into this verse and to help sow in such as way that we please the Spirit.

The other day I heard someone say that in our relationships creativity can inhibit connection. For example, when we are creating something we can get isolated and lose connection with others. But this reminded me that creativity usually comes out of connection.
It is our connection with God that leads to producing and creativity. It can also be the same in relationships. Connecting with others can inspire us and help us create on a new level.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us combine connection and creativity the way he intended, and to help our creativity increase through connection.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Stay connected with God in your workouts. Connection with him is what produces fruit.
I am praying for you.
