Here is today's communion meditation.
There are several verses in the Bible, that talk about people being like sheep without a shepherd.
1 Kings 22:17 says, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the LORD said, ‘These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’”
In Mark 6:34 when Jesus was among the people it says, "When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things."
The people were like sheep without a shepherd because they had no master. Lately, we have talked about how God is our master, and we have his mastery. Because he is our master he is also our good shepherd who cares for us.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that Jesus is our good shepherd.

Over the last couple of years, we've talked about the pipeline of living water God put within us that has God's spirit, wisdom, power, mind, grace, peace, joy, patience, love, health, energy, finances, and much more.
Think about this for a moment... You don't have to use your wisdom, instead you can use God's.
You don't have to rely on your level of peace, joy, energy, or patience. You can use God's.
And His supply is unlimited and inexhaustible.
While I was thinking about this the other day, I felt like God said to me, "I have also given you my mastery."
Romans 6:8-14 says, "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to...

Isaiah 42:13 says, "The LORD marches out like a warrior; he stirs up his rage like a man of war; he makes his anger heard; he shouts aloud; he declares his mastery over his enemies."
Part of the mastery God has given us is mastery over God's enemies. Think about the story of Esther, when God turned the tables for his people, they gained mastery over...

In Genesis 4 is the story of Cain and Abel. God did not look with favor on Cain's sacrifice like he did on Abel's, so Cain became angry.
And God said to him in Genesis 4:6-7, "Why are you angry,” said the LORD to Cain, “and why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you refuse to do what...

In 1 Corinthians 3:10 Paul said, "According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it."
God's grace supplied Paul with God's mastery.
God is often referred to as Master. He is the master creator, architect, builder, and so much more....

Philippians 2:2 says, "Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose."
We are in a time of the year, that is a reminder to be examining ourselves and making adjustments.
In today's communion let's take some time to examine how well we are united in spirit and purpose with the people around us.
And we are asking God to help us humble ourselves as needed so that we are like minded and united in spirit and purpose.

Malachi 4:2-3 says, "“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies."
This prophecy was given at the very end of the Old Testament, before Jesus came.
We have righteousness in Christ, means we are right with God, and God have him on our side. It also gave him the ability to put the same power that raised Jesus from the dead on the inside of us, so that it can bring life to our mortal body ( Romans 8:11). And when he sets us free we will go out with joy.
In today's communion we are asking God to activate this promise for us.

The Feast of Trumpets is coming up on the evening of 9/15 and it starts the 10 Days of Awe, which are 10 days to remind us of the wonders of God.
In Psalm 119:27 David said, "Make me understand the way of Your precepts, So I will meditate on Your wonders."
This time of year is a reminder to be meditating on the wonderful things God has done in our lives.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude for God's wonders, and we are asking him to help us meditate on his wonders the way he desires.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
On those days when you don't feel like working out, just get started. Sometimes after the first set, God will do the wonderful, and carry you through the workout.

Ephesians 6:13-16 says, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.…"
Today's communion is a time of gratitude for the full armor of God and we are asking God to reveal to us any areas where we are not standing firm the way he desires. And we are asking God to help us stand firm.
