Today is Day 1 of the 7 Day Feast of Tabernacles, which is like a fall harvest festival, and it's a time to rejoice in the harvest. Tabernacles is a reminder that God is living within us, and he fills all in all.
Acts 13:52 says, "the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit." This was not a one time thing... they were continually filled.
In today's communion we are asking God to fill us continually with joy and the Holy Spirit.

Tonight starts the 7 Day Feast of Tabernacles, which is like a fall harvest festival, and it's a time to rejoice in the harvest. Tabernacles is a reminder that God is living within us, and He wants to fill us to a new level this year.
Luke 10:21 says "At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way."
In today's communion we are asking God to fill us to a new level with His joy.

At my gym we used to have a special day during the Feast of Tabernacles called Play Like a Kid Again Day. We would play dodgeball, hopscotch, four square, double dutch jumprope, etc. This time of year, is a reminder that kids have many of the secrets to health. When was the last time we played like kids?

This month we are focused on understanding the times, so we know what is best to do. The other day was the Day of Atonement, which was a day of fasting with no food or water. As we went through the day of fasting we emptied ourselves. I think of atonement as a deep cleaning and a reminder that Jesus emptied himself so that God can fill us with his spirit, wisdom, and joy.
Phillipians 2:6-8 says "Who(Jesus), existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross..."
Luke 10:21 says "At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pl...
Here is this week's Yearly Cycle Update.
One of our partners once told a story of being on a long hike and being totally exhausted. But then a song by Tobymac started playing and it reinvigorated him. In the song were the words, "empty never felt so full," and they took on a new meaning for him.
We just passed through the Day of Atonement and the 7 day Feast of Tabernacles starts on the evening of 10/9. During atonement we empty ourselves through fasting so that God can fill us to a new level with his Spirit and joy during Tabernacles.
Here is this week's filter(reminder) to write at the top of our journals each day... Tabernacles: Empty never felt so full.
I am praying for you.
Daniel
Recently we passed through the Day of Atonement, which was like the close of the year on God's calendar. As we think of the circle of the year coming to a close, it's important to remember that the circle is not meant to be empty... but filled.
Isaiah 45:18 says, "For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.
In the Old Testament God promised to make the people clean on the Day of Atonement. But we are not meant to be clean and empty out but rather filled with the power of the Spirit.
In Luke 4:14 after Jesus went through the 3 temptations in the wilderness it says "Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding country."

Yesterday was the Day of Atonement, which is like the close of the year on God's calendar. As we think of closing the year, I think it's important to put some closure to things and not dwell on the past.
Isaiah 43:18-21 says “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
In today's communion we are thanking God for the new thing he is doing and that he chose us to proclaim his praise. And we are asking him to help us close things out and not dwell on the past.

Today is the Day of Atonement, which is a reminder that Jesus is our High Priest. The Day of Atonement is like the major deadline for the year, and whenever a deadline approaches pressure increases, and time slows down.
Today is typically a total fast with no food or water until about 6pm. As I was thinking about this, I was reminded of the scripture Jesus uses during the 3 temptations in the wilderness, when he tells Satan that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Jesus was quoting from Deuteronomy 8 and here are verses 1-3 for context.
Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He hum...
The Day of Atonement starts tonight at sunset. This is a time of year when there is often an increase in pressure. The Day of Atonement is like the major deadline for the year, and whenever a deadline approaches pressure increases, and time slows down. This time of year, is a reminder for us to persevere. And in Hebrews 11:27 it says that Moses persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
In today's communion we are asking God to open our eyes to see the invisible. There is so much happening in the unseen world and Moses was able to see with the eyes of faith what God was up to in the unseen world.

Today is Day 9 of the Daniel Fast and the Day of Atonement starts tonight. The Day of Atonement is typically a total fast with no food or water from around 6pm tonight until 6pm tomorrow. In the Jewish culture they break the fast with bagels tomorrow night. Bagels are symbolic of the yearly cycle coming full circle. If you plan to...
Hebrews 1:14 says "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
Lately it seems that God keeps bringing to mind the concept of the spiritual world. In science it has been shown the visible spectrum of what we can see is only one billionth of the spectrum. We only see a tiny fraction of what is really happening in the world. Part of this unseen world is that God sends angels to minister to us.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God sends us his angels to minister to us. And we are asking for wisdom and understanding of how angels minister to us and for God to open our eyes so that we are more aware of what all he is doing for us in the unseen world.

Today is Day 8 of the Daniel Fast. When we reach the 10th day which is the Day of Atonement, I do a total fast with no food or water. This year the total fast will start on the evening of Oct 4th and go through the evening of Oct...
This is a time of year when there is often a lot of pressure. We are getting close to the Day of Atonement(Oct 4-5), which is like the major deadline for the year. There were times in the Bible when Jesus was under a lot of pressure such as his temptations in the wilderness and in the garden before going to the cross. In these times angels came and ministered/strengthened him.
The other day I had a busy pressure filled day and I didn't record a communion video that day because, other stuff kept coming up. I was getting ready to try to record a video, but I felt like God wanted me to have a personal time of communion with him. In that time, he began to show me that even Jesus needed to be ministered to. Hebrews 1:14 says "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God sends us his angels to minister to us. And we are asking him to send his angels to minister to us and str...
